The Nights in Africa
"A Night in Africa" is the AIDS Walk kick off evening staring African professional drummers, dancers,
artist and musicians where everyone is given the opportunity to taste the African cuisine. We have decided
to choose A Night in Africa as the theme because in the African culture dances and festivities are
considered as joyful events to celebrate special occasions, personal exchanges, flirting and intimacy.
The HIV-AIDS prevention message is passed on easily while entertaining. Is an adult night where alcohol
will be served in contrast to the family AIDS Awareness BBQ.
The money that we raise during the A Night in Africa will go directly to sustaining our programmes:
- our training courses for HIV prevention, treatment and harm reduction among African women and men
living in Edmonton and other related projects listed under Projects section
