Looking for Volunteers

Since its creation the success of programs and projects of the Foundation Madeleine Sanam rest principally on know how and involvement of the volunteers. Madeleine-Sanam foundation searches continuously new volunteers with diversified skills and competences in order to fill the positions posted below. NATIONAL AIDS WALK VOLUNTEER-COORDINATOR

The Foundation is looking for a Volunteer-Coordinator for the National AIDS Walk scheduled on September 12, 2010 at the City Hall. The Coordinator will be supervised directly by the President of the Foundation. He or she will be responsible for the fundraising (pledge) and the walk for the Foundation.
The duties include:

  • Searching for local and national partnerships with other organisations
  • Supervising these partners throughout the planning stage and at the walk
  • Identifying volunteers to help in the AIDS Walk for the foundation
  • Responsible for the weekly members recruit
  • Create a marketing package to send to the partners
  • Create a t-shirt and bag design for the walk in the name of the Foundation
  • Create and supervise sub-committees
  • Report the funds to the Board of Directors after the walk

BANQUET COORDINATOR

The Madeleine Sanam Foundation is looking for volunteers to organise the 10th anniversary banquet in order to promote and raise money for the foundation activities.

  • The banquet could take place some time this year in December 2010.
  • The tasks will include writing a marketing plan for sponsors
  • The coordinator is assigned to organise and invite international/national/ local acclaimed guest speakers on HIV/AIDS field and to book an affordable ball or banquet room, accessible and convenient for about two hundred people or more.
  • The volunteer will also seek donations and financial support from local businesses and community organisations.
  • Researching for sponsors items for the silent auction or raffles
  • Finding a bilingual master of ceremony preferably a team player, a TV Anchor or a local well know comedian
  • Coordinating the banquet activities, and recruiting the artistic groups.
  • Conceive a promotion for televisions, radio and newspapers
  • Selling tickets to broader audience

OFFICE VOLUNTEER AND PROJECT ADMINISTRATIVE

The duties include:

  • Answering phones
  • Photocopying and collating materials
  • Mailing out and faxing
  • Documents preparation
  • Specific research project
  • Newsletter mailing out
The Administrative Assistant should demonstrate patience by using his communication skills, be flexible, have an excellent public relation skills and should be able to work with a minimal supervision

Communication and Public Relations Officer

The duties include:

  • Calling for articles and revising them
  • Publishing the newsletter
  • Establishing media contacts
  • Coordinating and attending various conferences
  • Promotional activities and sales
  • Photographing the Foundation events
  • Write and release a press release
  • Write and up date the information on the website

Fundamental Skills needed for this position are:

  • Read and understand information presented in a variety of forms
  • Locate, gather and organize information using appropriate technology and information systems
  • Be creative and comfortable in the public eye are required for this position

BOOK KEEPER VOLUNTEERS

The duties include:

  • Project reports to Funders and Donors
  • Tax receipts to be issued to Funders and Donors
  • Annual File income report for the Federal government
  • Financial statement for the Government and other relate institutions (Casino, the Board)
  • Balance sheet
  • Implement a book keeping for the Madeleine Sanam Foundation
  • Prepare report to the government for the T4 (Salaries or Honoraries)
  • Prepare the financial statement for the certified accountant audit

WEB DESIGNER & DEVELOPER VOLUNTEER

Duties:
To conceive the graphics and the electronic publishing for the Foundation membership. Design and update of the website and to ensure the coordination of these services in order to support the communication requirements of members, communities and public. To conceive a chat room, forums, calendars of events, archives, workshops and programs. Internet site should be bilingual.

Qualifications:
Specific Skills: Develop web site architecture and determine hardware and software requirements, Source, select and organize information for inclusion and design the appearance, layout and flow of the web site, Create and optimize content for web site using a variety of graphics, database, animation and other Software Programming Languages: HTML, XML, Java Script, CSS, Object-Oriented programming languages, PHP Computer and Technology Knowledge: Windows, MAC, Linux, Networking software, Intranet, Internet, Servers, Multimedia Software, Office Suites, Image editing software , Programming software, Web site creation and management software, Database software, Programming languages, Software development Must know XHTML,Web browsers (IE5,6,7,8; Firefox 1,2,3 ; Opera; Safari), Servers (Apache, MySQL, PHP).
