Denise Leclair

Biography
Denise was born in Edmonton and has lived in San Francisco for many years. She was a dancer, a teacher, an African drum player as well as a community development agent. Denise is a member of Global Hand Drummers and has contributed to community activities in Edmonton for many years. She wants to contribute to the construction of a new equalitarian society. Among her numerous realizations, there is her large contribution to fundraising banquets for the United Church of Canada which recently involved 300 persons. Denise participated in the first “train the trainer” on HIV/AIDS as presented by the Madeleine Sanam Foundation. She expressed her interest in sharing her knowledge and experiences with African women in rural areas.
