Georgina Burt-SeveroVice-President & Corporate and Community Funding CoordinatorBiography Georgina received her science degree with a Health minor in 1999 at the University of Central England. Along with her ten years experience as an administrator for a wide range of health and hospital services, Georgina managed with success an awareness initiative to HIV/AIDS named Hert Shapes (Hertfordshire Sexual Health Action – Awareness for the ethnical minority groups.) The project provided training and consultation services for doctors and presented workshops and diverse artistic programs for schools, colleges and community groups. Georgina regularly contributed to the fight against AIDS in the African community of United Kingdom and was the official Britain delegate to the European Conference on AIDS awareness within the African community in Belgium from 2001 to 2003. Since her arrival in Canada in 2003, she has worked as a research assistant for HIV Network of Edmonton Society. Georgina taught English to new immigrants and refugees. She sits on the administrative board of the Cultural Connections Institutes - Learning Exchange (CCI- Lex), she also works for Alberta Human Rights and Citizenship Commission. She is also the director of Wise Thought (a non-profit organization based in London which promotes AIDS awareness to the national and international level though artistic projects.) |
